The members of our association contribute to the promotion of humanitarian principles through their cultural and business knowledge in service of innovative projects that create new richness in Peru and focus primarily on the education of children.

History of the Children of Golden Cities

September 2002: Steve J-P Hutinet – a recent student of the School of Business – proposed the creation of a project that would soon mobilize the efforts, the competencies and the common will of fifty people. This project proposed a challenge: to efficiently and durably improve the conditions of life of underprivileged Peruvians. This project had a name “The Children of Golden Cities”.

In 2003, after having determined their plan of action, the nature of their activities and after having established solid structures, these people (CEOs, executives, University Deans, University professors, professional people, and graduate students) decided unanimously to create a French association under the law of 1901. In making this decision, it was clear to everyone what the project’s main emphasis would be. It was obvious that it was a very strong idea, which, at the same time, provoked the launch of the 2004 mission.

During 2003 and 2004 the Children of Golden Cities association organized several activities and created events to bring together the necessary foundations in accomplishing our first humanitarian and cultural mission.

May 2004: The association took all necessary actions to achieve its 2004 mission. 200 participants brought to life the very successful event called “The Peruvian Night” in Dijon.

September 2004: The solidification of humanitarian aid. After several weeks of investigation in Peru, the association decided to support the elementary and high school of Arequipa by donating scholastic materials. An agreement was signed by both partners and as a result the school’s library was entirely remodeled. Before taking action, the association studied and analyzed the way in which the library should be organized and 1500 new books were bought to increase the percentage of scholastic materials by 600%. The newly bought equipment was set up and the new library was ready for use.
